The Story
These 58L stainless steel vessels are designed in the same manner as a commercial beer keg, but with a large 10cm (4inch) tri-clover opening at the top that allows you to easily get inside the keg to clean it. This new 58L size is ideal for doing 50L batches with a little extra head space inside the Kegmenter.
This Kegmenter comes with an airlock and a flat plate, but it can also be used under pressure if desired. If you intend to use this under pressure, we recommend purchasing the lid with ball lock posts and a pressure relief valve.
The Kegmenter can hold 2.5bar, allowing you to carbonate and ferment in the same vessel. You can either carbonate naturally using our adjustable pressure relief valve (spunding valve) or force carbonate if you are using a CO2 gas cylinder.
Being able to hold pressure also allows you to push the beer directly from the fermenter through a filter or even dispense directly from the fermenter to a draught beer tap if desired.
The chimes on the Kegmenters have been specifically designed to be taller than standard chimes in order to provide clearance over the stainless posts on the Ball Lock Post Lid. This implies that the Kegmenters can be stacked. Because of the interlocking stacking chimes, the kegs can be safely stacked up to four high.
The Kegmenter can also be used in conjunction with the 2" to 4" tri-clover concentric reducer.
This means you can reduce the 4inch opening down to 2 inch opening so you can attach one of our Alcoengine Reflux or Alcoengine Pot still to the top.
Pressure Limitations
Maximum Working Pressure: 2.5 BAR
Test Pressure: 5 BAR
Wall Thickness (Body/Chimes): 1.8mm/2.1mm
